PROGRAM GOALS

Deepen understanding and appreciation of music

 Development of technique and musicianship through reading music, playing scales, and creating an awareness of tone, pitch, and rhythm.

Development of effective practice techniques

ARRIVAL/TARDINESS

Please plan to arrive a few minutes before lesson with REQUIRED MATERIALS, clean hands, and short fingernails.

Please turn off all cell phones.

Students should not chew gum during sessions.

Minor students must be accompanied by an adult.

Students who are late cannot be guaranteed a full lesson.

REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR LESSONS

Please bring the following to each lesson:

Violin, shoulder pad, cleaning cloth

Bow, rosin

All assigned music

Notebook/folder for lesson notes, music, practice charts, etc.

 RECOMMENDED FOR EFFECTIVE PRACTICE

In addition to the above REQUIRED MATERIALS, I recommend the following materials for effective practice:

Metronome

Electronic tuner

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT 

For minor students, a parent or guardian must attend every practice and supervise daily practice. We encourage and desire open discussion about a student’s progress. Please contact me via phone or email with any questions, concerns, or comments. 

STUDENT CANCELLATION 

No refunds or adjustments in tuition will be made for students withdrawing from lessons after the fourth week in the semester.

Lessons missed by the student will not be refunded for any reason; however, missed lessons may or may not be made up at the sole discretion of the teacher.

TEACHER CANCELATION AND INCLEMENT WEATHER 

Lessons canceled by the teacher for any reason, including inclement weather, will be rescheduled or credit will be given towards the next semester’s tuition. 

You will be notified via email or voice mail of any cancellations by teacher. In general, the Violin Studio will follow Broward County Public School cancellations due to bad weather.

TUITION PAYMENT

Payment of tuition may be made by cash or check payable to Brillante Music LLC.
